Biloxi Or Bust!

Biloxi was our first stop on our adventure this year that will take us all the way to the East Coast and back to the Midwest. For the first round of travel Biloxi was a nice mid-point for us to stop and rest before moving on to Florida. I will have to report we made it with no major issues other than the rough roads of I-10, and I mean they are ROUGH from Houston to Mississippi. Remember to take some stops to keep the travel fatigue down.

Our Campsite for Biloxi was Scenic RV Resort - This was a great little resort - It was very clean and well kept. For the larger RV's 42ft plus the site was very tight even tho it was a pull thru, so please make sure you call ahead if your hauling a big boy like ours.

We enjoyed our week in Biloxi. Jaclynn and the kids enjoyed the sugar shack in the Hard Rock Casino - They have a smorgasbord of good eats, make sure your sugar tooth is in high gear as the treats are incredible and very large - Its a bit expensive so bring your wallet as well.

We also visited the Beau Rivage Resort and Casino several times - Their food options were good and the valet parking is free. We highly suggest their Terrace restaurant and get the chicken and waffles! They are epic and just get them!!!

We didn't enjoy a lot of the beach as the weather was questionable most of the days we were there with a chance of rain and storms into the evening's. The Gulf of Mexico is very calm here with small waves with very pretty white beaches, but the quality of the water is like my son says "bad night after Taco Bell" - I dont believe its that bad, but it is murky.

For the most part I was able to start to settle in with getting into the work from the road situation and getting things like the wifi dialed in using our Pepwave router and LTE connectivity - There will be more on that in future posts. As we were dramatically behind leaving, I also didn't have my desk setup yet - So using the laptop desk of Libby's it was more work from the sofa then work from a desk, but I was able to make it work and keep up with my onslaught of meetings and work tasks.

We were there for the 4th of July which was fun. We were able to get a GREAT view of them from the top floor of the Beau Rivage Resort parking garage - We got there early, parked the car, went in for dinner and came back just in time for the show. It wasn't the most Epic of July 4th firework displays but it was fun to sit back and watch. We met a few new people while we waited from Ohio that moved to Biloxi for work and it was fun to hear of their adventures and share a few of ours!

Camping Details:

Majestic Oaks RV Resort 1750 Pass Rd, Biloxi, MS 39531

Cost: $45 per night if you stay 7 days

Big Sites for Big RV's - Yes but they are tight

Things we liked - Very nice well maintained location with washers and dryers, nice pool and clubhouse and gated.

Thing we didn't like - Close to the military base and not right on the water - a little expensive for the overall location. The sites are overall small for the cost.
