Choctaw RV Park Review: A Clean, Spacious Stay in Durant, Oklahoma

After leaving The Regatta on Grand a day early, we headed south to Choctaw RV Park in Durant for a two-night stay. We had been traveling in a motorhome instead of our usual fifth wheel, and this stop made arrival about as easy as it gets.

Our First Impression

Roomy, clean, and well maintained. Every site is a large pull-through, so getting the motorhome parked was simple. The sites had plenty of space, full hookups, and good access to everything around the park. Staff did not guide us into the site, but with sites this big and open, we did not need much help.

The Pool and Facilities

The pool was cold, quiet, and clean—which felt fantastic in the Oklahoma heat. We enjoyed it enough that it became one of the highlights of our short stay. The shower rooms were also excellent: large, private, and very clean.

Traveling With Our Dog

The dog park is especially well designed. It has two separate gated areas, which is perfect for dogs that do not always play well with others. There are also large open spaces where we were able to play with our off-leash dog.

Casino, Shuttle, and Date Night

One of the best conveniences is the shuttle that picks you up directly at your RV site and takes you to the casino. The casino itself is huge, clean, and well organized, with separate smoking and non-smoking areas. Service at the tables was fantastic, and the lower-cost table games made it a fun place to spend an evening.

My wife and I had a quiet dinner at the steakhouse. The food was great and the service was fast. It was a little pricey, but it made for a nice date-night meal.

What We Would Change

The only real drawback was the lack of shade. In the middle of an Oklahoma summer, that is something worth planning for. An awning, outdoor fan, and good air conditioning will make the stay much more comfortable.

Don’t Wait Tip: Use the site-to-casino shuttle and save yourself the walk or drive. It picks you up right at your RV site.

Would We Stay Again?

Absolutely. The value is fantastic, and we would love to stay longer next time. If you are looking for a safe, clean RV stop with spacious pull-through sites, a great pool, an excellent dog park, good food, and affordable table games nearby, this is your spot.
