We rolled into Hocking Hills expecting a quiet Midwest state park stop.

What we got?

Towering hemlocks. Misty morning hikes. Zero cell service. And one of the most naturally stunning landscapes we’ve seen east of the Mississippi.

If you’re RVing through the Midwest and want dramatic scenery without heading west — this is your spot.

The campground is heavily wooded — which we loved.

The shade is thick. Great for summer heat.

Not great for Starlink.

It’s quiet. Respectful. Nature-focused.

We noticed:

We hiked at sunrise one morning and had entire sections to ourselves. That alone made the stay worth it.

If you need reliable Zoom calls, this is not your productivity park.

• Verizon: 1 bar LTE (unusable at times)

• AT&T: Slightly better, but inconsistent

• Starlink: Spotty due to tree cover

This is a “schedule your work around your hikes” kind of stop.

And honestly? That’s part of the magic.
